Thanks to the choice of seven Professors, two years after the institution of the Università degli Studi di Roma “Tor Vergata”, the Department of Electronic Engineering came to life in 1983. It included and coordinated several fields concerning both the planning and the production of systems and electronic tools and the analysis and the planning of control, computation and management systems.

In 1996 the Institution had a substantial modification which gave life to two Departments: the Department of Computer Science, System and Production and the present Department of Electronic Engineering.

Nowadays, the latter deals with the basic themes concerning the Electronic Engineering in general.
